Olga Jelínková

Olga Jelínková studied at The Prague Conservatory under Prof.A.Denygrová (graduation 2002) and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in the class of
Prof. M. Podskalský, one of the leading Czech baritones
(graduation 2009).
In the conservatory performances, she had a chance to appear as Belinda (H. Purcell,
Dido and Aeneas) and
The Queen of the Night
(W. A. Mozart, Die Zauberflöte).
In 2000, she was awarded 2nd prize at Dušek’s Competition of the Musical Youth, in 2001 and 2005 a certificate of merit at Dvořák’s International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary. In 2002, she appeared as Rosina (G. Rossini, Il barbiere di Siviglia) during the summer season of the South-Bohemian Theatre in České Budějovice. In 2003, she participated in master classes under Prof. Richard Sigmund in Merano, Italy, where she then, within the Merano Opera Studio, sang in the performances of La nozze di Figaro by W. A. Mozart (as Barberina) and Carmen by G. Bizet (as Frasquita).

From January 2003 to August 2006, she was a member of The Prague Philharmnic Choir.
She regularly cooperates with The Czech Philharmonic Collegium, and took part in recording a CD for Classico, a Danish company, with The Czech Philharmonic Collegium in 2005, singing arias by A. Dvořák, G. Verdi, and G. Puccini. For Czech radio “Cesky Rozhlas”, she recorded two lesser known arials (L. Delibes: La Rosignol, G. F. Händel: Nell dolce d’obblio) with violinist Jitka Hosprova and a full son cycle of Zdenek Lukas Quis? for soprano and violin, which premiered at Rudolfinum in Prague in March 2007.
With the Prague Chamber Opera, Olga toured Japan in June 2006, where she performed as First Lady (W. A. Mozart, Die Zauberflöte), through July to September in Germany as The Queen of the Night. She performed as Eurydika in inscenations of Offenbachś “Orfeus in the underworld” on the theatre stage in Pilsen and in The City theatre in Brno, where she then also sang Madam Herz in “The theatre director” (W. A. Mozart). From December 2006, she appeared as a guest in Opava's theatre as The Queen of the Night (P. Schaffer, Amadeus).
Olga performs with noted Czech organ player Aleš Bárta and Baroque Jazz Quintet group overseen by piano player E.Spáčil and with Ensemble Martinů.
In May 2008 she was awarded 2nd prize at the International Pustina Competition in Žďár nad Sázavou and during the same year in August she won the Ad Honorem Mozart competition in Prague. In July 2008, she participated in master classes under Tereza Berganza in Spanish Santander, where she also participated in some concerts and recitals In September 2008, Olga sang Mahler’s IV. Symphony with the FOK orchestra led by Jiří Kout. During December 2008, she was a soloist on a concert tour of Japan with The Czech Philharmonic Collegium.
In May 2009 she won the first prize at International Pustina Competition and in August the same year she took part at vocal master classes of Peter Dvorský in Znojmo. From the beginning of 2010 she cooperates with Janáček Theatre in Brno, where she sings The Queen of the Night (W.A.Mozart, The Magic Flute) and Adele (J.Strauss, Die Fledermauss). In Theater of F.X.Šalda in Liberec performs Olga as Gilda (G.Verdi, Rigoletto) and Amina (V.Bellini, La Sonnambula, prem. 9/2010) / nomination - Award Thalie 2010.
During June 2010 she performed as Micaëla (G. Bizet, Carmen ) in Seoul, South Korea with ensemble of The State Oper Prague.
In June 2011 Olga became a finalist of the prestigious singing competition Concorso di Canto lirico internazionale per Cantanti lirici – Giacomo Puccini (Giacomo Puccini’s International Opera’s Singers Competition) in Italian Luca.
In November 2011 Olga won 1. prize in International singing competition of Antonin Dvorak in Karlovy Vary, the most important classic competition of the Czech Republic.
Later that year she recorded a vocal of the main heroin in the newest movie Aplaus by director Jaroslav Brabec.
Since February 2012 Olga performs the Queen of the Night in the State Opera Prague.
Olga has sung Bellini’s Amina also with ensemble of Opera na Zamku (Polish Opera at the Castle) in Polish Szczecin and German Ingolstadt.
